Mission Statement
Norton STARS after-school program recognizes that each child is an individual with special needs that can be met through creativity and skill building, which are necessary for success. Norton All-Stars program also respects the individual needs of children by providing a caring and creative environment and places an emphasis on social, emotional, physical development through language arts.
Our philosophy of education is that Norton STARS is comprised of a community of unique learners, who vary in ability and learning styles. Our role as educators is to give children the tools and strategies necessary to increase their abilities in order to continue through their educational career and into adulthood. 
To accomplish this goal, we will teach to each child’s individual needs so that all students can feel capable and successful. We will present curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life. We will incorporate various projects, academic and life-skills, strategies and tools, and hands-on learning in order to make children active learners. Finally, we will translate learning into the community to help children become caring and active members of society.
